The Aureole in NYC does not have the tower of wine with the scantily clad female wine retrievers in harness. It's a much more subdued and non-Vegas atmosphere, though my recollections of the Aureole in Vegas are fond ones in terms of the food (and company) during the one meal I had there a couple of years ago.

Ok. I am now officially THE most jealous friend you have! This is a dream vaca come true for me and you got to do it! I am SUCH a foodie. Not only do I watch the Food Network every chance I get, but I read every tome out there that has to do with food! I've also eaten at Aureole in Las Vegas with the wine angels flying up the tower to retreive our choice of wine, but to be in the kitchen with such a well known Chef as Tony...WOW is all I can say!

Hi,
I wanted to suggest that in Cista Rica is a genuine Czech restaurant owned by Czech chef, but after reading your travelogue I don´t feel I should make such hint.
Have a good time - dad
